Danny was Wren’s whole life. She loved him and he loved her. When she was with him, everything was perfect.

And then Danny died.

Wren was completely distraught. It was not fair that Danny, the only person who really loved her an made her feel somewhat normal, had been taken away from her. So in the midst of grief and rash action, she decides to bring Danny back.

Ever since she could remember, she has had unexplainable supernatural abilities that she shares with her mother and sister. Her mother, for some reason, does not like to talk about it, but Wren has been experimenting with her powers.

She didn’t really think it would actually work, but on incantation later, Danny was right there in front of her…alive! Err, undead, I should say.

For Wren all this was amazing and almost exactly what she wanted…almost. She keeps Danny hidden, of course, and only visits him during the night and the weekends. However, she soon starts to realize that the Danny she has now is not the same Danny she fell in love with. He’s more like a shell…the shell of the boy she used to love. He’s cold and smooth like a statue, he has no heartbeat (which is eerie), and there is no emotion in his eyes. But what can Wren do?

Enter Gabriel. He just transferred to Wren’s school and he can somehow sense the poser within her…and he knows what she has done. But the only thing Gabriel wants is to help Wren make things right with Danny…and he may be the only one who can help her. Danny, however, has recently started to ask questions. Will they be able to fix this before Danny figures out what going on? And more importantly, will Wren willingly let go of Danny for a second time?

Well, what is there to say? This book was amazing! I like that the storyline was simple yet unique. Truthfully, I have not read many zombie books, but I know that this isn’t your average zombie novel, which I like :) Originality and uniqueness is always a plus in my book.

Wren’s character development was fun to follow. I loved seeing her change and realize that what she’d done might not have been the best/smartest idea. And Gabriel was very, very likeable ;) he is very sweet and he just wants to help Wren out.

Overall, it was a great book! And extra points for the book cover…its gorgeous!
